Before Makeover

This ottoman was well and truly ready for some tender love and care.

A beautiful aztec inspired fabric – medina watermelon from the Anthropology collection from  warwick fabric house was decided on.

I decided to update the ottoman with a simple look, finishing with gorgeous studs around the base.

Now the ottoman is ready to be used again.  The client can’t believe the transformation.

Splash of Colour

Gorgeous fabric makes an old ottoman come to life.

Stripey – the bold bedroom stool

I found this material a while ago and have just been waiting for the right project to use it.

Yes – the colours are a bit out there, but I think they are fun, lively and will brighten up a bedroom,  giving it a pop of colour.Stripey bedroom stool Old bedroom Stool Old bedroom stool Stripey bedroom stool

The old stool definitely needed a makeover.

Now to decided whether to change the colour of the stool to an antique silver black or just leave it. Will have a think,  in the mean time I may make some cushions with the grey velvet and stripe.

Sometimes the simple jobs turn out to be the most effective.

I have two amazing retro stools – Ok they are looking a bit worst for wear but I love the colour and they are comfortable.

After careful consideration about maybe putting on new vinyl I decided to keep the integrity of the stools and just redo the buttons.

When I took the base of the stool off I found there was a piece of vinyl covering the bottom of the stool that I could use to make new buttons without disturbing the rest of the stool YA…………

In the end it was an easier job than I first thought but very satisfying.

Slip Cover for Ottoman

After finishing the meditation chair it was on to updating the ottoman. We decided a slipcover would be best so it could be washed as the dog and cat have a habit of sleeping on it. Although now it has been refurbished …… maybe not……..

My dog Jed was also eyeing the ottoman up but I managed to keep him off it, but only just.

New Cushions and Updated Ottoman

CushionsNew Cushions were in order to give the room a lift and to highlight the recovered ottoman.

The ottoman was recovered in a beautiful fabric from Warwick in lemons and olive greens. It replaced an equally lovely fabric from Signature Prints but unfortunately after many years it was looking very tired and was due for a new treatment. The client was very happy with the result.

Antique Footstool Restored

Who doesn’t love a footstool to put your feet up on after a long hard day.

Antique Foot Stool

The wooden base of the stool was restored and top finished with a warwick fabric.  I couldn’t be happier with the finish look – hope you like it too.
